This subject needs to be preached about loud and long. There is much apostasy in the church, and all that is needed to realize it is to look to the very book that the churches use to base their teachings on, the bible. The bible is the operating instruction for our life and the life of the church.

With this definition, it does not take long to see how many churches have deserted the truth of the bible to follow the manmade dictates used to grow the membership and increase the money flow. Of course, this is done without teaching that Jesus Christ is the only way to God, and that without the blood shed on the cross there is no salvation. The cross and the blood are as stated in the Bible an offense to many, and they do not want to hear about them. What they teach is an easy gospel that can lead to building a large church, but a dead, lukewarm, compromising church. These type churches can be found in the book of Revelation. I will not copy the bible passages, I will simply provide the chapter and verse for any that any interested to take the time and look them up. The compromising church can be found in Revelation, 2:12-17, the corrupt church in Revelation 2:18-29. The next church covers many in today’s society, the dead church in Revelation 3:1-6 and the last one I want to show is the lukewarm church in Revelation 3:14-22. From these passages, you can see that Jesus will not tolerate these churches. The message is very clear, Jesus Christ and Him crucified is the only way to God.

The bible has many non- negotiable statements made by Jesus Christ, such as when He states that He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the father but by Him. That statement is not open to debate; He is the only way to God. Many churches want to be accommodating to other religions. This is a direct affront to the statement made by Jesus Christ. This is apostasy and all the Bible believing churches need to confront this and preach the truth without compromise.
There is one teaching in many churches today that is in opposition to the word of God and all that the New Testament teaches and that is the refusal to provide any teaching on the blood of Jesus. The blood is the only way to have our sins washed away and to deny the blood is apostasy. The book of Acts 20:28, “…to feed the church of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood.” (KJV) Jesus purchased salvation for those who follow Him with His blood, and those churches, which deny that blood, are apostate. Some denominations have gone as far as to remove any hymn that refers to the blood from their hymnal. To say that the blood of Jesus is unnecessary is the reject all the suffering of Jesus from His beating to His death on the cross.

One of the biggest apostate teachings is the one about homosexuality and that God approves of such a lifestyle. The Bible is very specific about homosexuality being an abomination before Him. In the Old Testament law, the penalty was death. The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah where destroyed for their perversion and even went as far as to demand the guest of Lot, who where angels, for sex. The book of Romans condemns this perversion as a sin. In addition, the little book of Jude teaches that the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah are an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

This is just a sampling of the apostasy in many churches today. There are more but space prohibits the discussion of all of them. A thorough reading of the Bible can lead one to find the others.
